Seattle Fishing Guide

Why Mooch for Salmon Rather than Troll?

Light tackle mooching is our specialty! This is a fun, active, hands-on fishing technique compared to trolling, which is passive.

On our Seattle fishing charter boat, you will actively work the bait at different depths. This type of fishing is intended for those who like to cast, hold their own rod and hook, and feel the fish bite! Experience a full-featured Seattle fishing trip with Captain Keith Robbins, Seattle's finest fishing guide.

Remember, most of the time the salmon stop the bait on the drop and you have to reel as fast as you can to catch up with them as they swim toward the surface. Mooching is a little more work but a lot more fun! By the time you get off the boat you'll be an experienced moocher.

What is Saltwater Fly Fishing?

Saltwater fly fishing is just like freshwater fishing with casting and stripping. This method is intended for more experienced fisherman.

The further you cast, the more fish you will catch. Captain Keith will take you to Seattle, Washington's best shorelines and tide rips. We target sea-run cutthroat trout, dolly vardon, steelhead, and different species of salmon (coho, humpback, chum, chinook) depending on the season.

It's great fun and if you like fly fishing it's a bucket list life event. Give it a try this summer!

A Spot Tail Salmon Guide and Captain Keith Robbins maintain extremely high fishing standards for tackle and equipment. We are frequently recommended by Seattle's finest hotels, fishing & tackle shops, and travel agencies. With over 28 years of professional fishing charter and fishing guide experience, newcomers and veterans can rely on our strong reliable reputation and safely enjoy an exciting fishing trip just minutes from Seattle.

The Puget Sound is calm and protected waters, full of wildlife and Washington scenery. As you may know, Puget Sound's Seattle fishing offers the most spectacular surroundings for salmon fishing and mooching in the United States. At up to 45 MPH, our charter fishing vessel can reach the best fishing sites quickly, ensuring a full day of Seattle fishing and adventure.
