Seattle Fishing Charters
A Spot Tail Salmon Guide offers several Seattle fishing charter opportunities for anglers of all skill levels. Our fishing methods vary depending on the type of fishing we’re targeting and the conditions. Light tackle mooching is the best method for catching large salmon in our waters. Mooching is a fishing technique that’s native to the Seattle area and consists of holding the rod, wait for the bite, and set the hook. This method allows our fishing guests to stay actively involved in the experience. After a good day of fishing, you’ll know how to mooch.
Fly fishing around Seattle is typically done near the shorelines from a boat and in skinny water. We fish sinking flies and top water flies, using sinking and floating lines. The preferred method of expert fisherman, saltwater fly fishing is similar to freshwater fly fishing; you will cast and strip your line, and the further you cast, the more big fish you’ll catch in a day.
I’m a long time Seattle fishing charter guide that knows all of the waterways that surround my fair city and on my guided fly fishing trips we will target Sea-Run Cutthroat Trout year-round, feisty Steelhead, Dolly Vardon, and several species of salmon including Chinook, Humpback, Chum, and Coho. Along the way you may get a chance to see aquatic wildlife, colorful birds, and all of the natural wonders that fill our waterways.
